For Realz (New Cross Talk Format)
I’ve disappointed myself once again, dear readers.
There should have been a new Cross Talk this weekend. But due to some scheduling conflicts, I wasn’t able to set up the new weekly format as I would’ve liked AND drum up the productivity needed to edit together a new episode in time for a September 18th release – it was a little bit too ambitious and I apologize. However, Chris and I DID have a chance to sit down and come up with some fantastic conversational videos about a number of topics! But as I said that shouldn’t be an excuse friends.
To be very clear, the episode is shot, in the middle of editing and it’s coming along nicely, pending some processing time. As I mentioned already there were some setbacks because of all of our schedules mixing and matching in the past three weeks, and I had some issues with running out of storage space on my computer, but those are kinda minor compared to the real issue.
Broken Promises & A New Day
Quite frankly, the issue is me. I’m largely to blame because I’m having a hard time adjusting to the juggle of all of the various posts, video formats, marketing of the posts, and fitting in my regular day work. Having shared that, I can already feel a shift in my energy levels as I work towards this new standard.
I’m sorry to have let you down today folks – I really wanted to have something great to share with you… But on the bright side, we do have 4 new episodes in the can now, with the possibility of 4 more additional episodes being recorded this coming weekend. My goal with that of course is to feature episodes of just Chris and I reviewing topics, and then getting into more group based conversations which include K. G. Singh and our ever-expanding cast of characters. Maybe? You’ll just have to stayed tuned to find out.
It really is a year of all killer and no filler. We are moving at a pace I never would have anticipated when I began this venture almost 2 years ago.
This is essential to share too… I never want the Cross Talk format to become stale, which is why it’s so important for me to work out the kinks now before we grow too large for our own individual skill sets. I realize that might sound vague, but I will tell you this for now, we are going to be releasing the following 4 episodes next and in the order posted – the nature death in film, the global film market, how personality says a lot about film tastes and vice versa, and the alienation of both film critics and the average movie goer. I promise they will both entertain and inform.
And I’m also working behind the scenes on an official timotheories logo, which will include the sub-brands of the Interviews, Cross Talk, and Just ‘n Time Games formats. An excellent exercise into the process of brand development.
I guess the major takeaway here is that I’m making mistakes as I move along in this process, and because I don’t want you to think that I’m perfect by any means, and especially because I want to share real examples of creative obstacles as they come up. I mention and emphasize this as you will encounter these challenges yourselves if you put your efforts forward with the arts. Don’t be afraid of trials, they help you grow as an individual, and a well rounded person can achieve even more than one who relies on force of will.
I was hesitant to write this post at first my friends, as I too am only human, and full of both good and bad qualities. I have these theories though, that provide me solace and humble me at important moments. For instance, the idea that whatever bothers me now is only temporary, one day it will be a memory or simply an automated process. And that is an amazing thought.
Tim!
